Some things we learned while organizing DebConf 23 at Kochi, sharing this in case some one organizing an international conference in future may find this useful. Visa type: Conference visa is strongly recommended, if someone is already in India for tourism they have to intimate FRRO (Foreigners Regional Registration Office) before the conference. e-visa can happen in 1-2 days but people applying at missions may need upto a week or longer to get the visa.

Debian Day’22, Bishop Heber College, Trichy Debian GNU/Linux, the universal operating system was officially released in 16 August 1993 by Ian Murdock. To celebrate the birth day of Debian, open source community and enthusiasts gather together, which is known by the name Debian Day. Anyone is free to organize the event both virtually and physically. The main objective of the Day is celebration, so any strict rules and protocols are relaxed.

The highlight of my summer is that I got the opportunity to spend it with Debian Community, and I would like to share my wonderful experience with all. Before moving ahead, a little introduction about me. I am Pavit Kaur, an undergraduate student pursuing Bachelor of Computer Science and Engineering in India and was a Google Summer of Code 2021 student developer with Debian. Starting from the very beginning, my journey with Debian commenced when the application period of Google Summer of Code begins.
